Information
“The Elliott” is nearly a household word in Guelph and surrounding area. Since 1903, we have been caring for seniors and over the years have developed a solid reputation as a caring organization.
What many may not know is The Elliott Community is a registered, charitable, non-profit organization. It all began with Mr. George Elliott, a resident of the City of Guelph who died in 1893 and left most of his estate to be used to construct the Guelph Home of the Friendless beside Guelph General Hospital.
These days, donations are used to enhance our resident’s quality of life. For example, our mobility van (right) used to transport residents to and from appointments or other personal activities was purchased using donations.
All donations receive the appropriate recognition and a receipt for income tax purposes. There are many ways you can donate including gifts of cash, stocks or securities, planned gifts such as bequests as well as memorial gifts.
For your convenience, you can donate online by clicking on the "Donate Now" button (above) or you can call us and we’ll make all the necessary arrangements.
Thanks to the support of generous donors, we are able to keep our commitment to making sure our residents have the opportunity to live life to their fullest. We believe each resident is unique and should be treated with respect and consideration in a caring, home-like environment. Residents are encouraged to maintain as much independence as possible and support their fundamental right to self-determination.
