Elliott CEO honoured
For the second year, the Guelph Mercury celebrated the leaders of Guelph giving them the recognition they deserve. It asked readers if they knew a leader, under the age of 40, who’s making a difference.
The paper asked for help to find 40 people who live, work, play or study in this area. The Elliott’s very own Trevor Lee, CEO, was recognized. Here’s how his profile appeared in the paper (reprinted by permission).
Age: 39
Trevor Lee is one of the community’s many unsung heroes.
Appointed almost a decade ago as chief executive of The Elliott Community, a long-term care, retirement and life-lease suite facility in the Royal City, he has spent countless hours giving his time and energy to the community. For three years prior, he worked as the facility’s chief financial officer.
Over the years he has served on the board of directors for numerous non-profit organizations, including the Victorian Order of Nurses, the Guelph Spring Festival, the Navy League of Canada-Guelph and Scouts Canada Wellington District. He is currently a Rotarian with the Rotary Club of Guelph.
"Trevor is the most kind-hearted person I have ever met," wrote Tracey Dingwall in her nomination. "He is caring, compassionate and giving of himself. He provides accounting services to several non-profit agencies and is proud to be connected with them in some way."
Widely regarding by his co-workers, Lee has shown tremendous leadership over the years.
"Trevor Lee is a true gentleman," wrote Angie Cole in her nomination. "He loves working with people and has a kind word for all. He has a kind heart and a tremendous amount of respect for all of those around him."
